Carbon Burn-Out is a technology and process in which residual carbon in fly ash is combusted to produce a consistent low-carbon, high-quality pozzolan. As a side benefit, ammonia on the ash is reduced to non-detectable levels.
The presence of activated carbon in fly ash can interfere with fresh concrete’s ability to entrain the desired amount of air. Eco Material’s RestoreAir® process uses a liquid reagent to pre-treat fly ash, before delivery to customers, to neutralize activated carbon’s air entrainment.
Coal plants use technologies to lower nitrogen oxide emissions that can leave excess ammonia on coal ash after combustion. Eco Material’s Ammonia Slip Mitigation technology eliminates this condition—which can create plant maintenance and operational issues—by injecting oxidizers that convert the ammonia to harmless compounds.
The ongoing research program of the Eco Material Technology Development Group has resulted in a line of specified, high performance Highly Reactive Pozzolan products used for a wide variety of construction applications and to optimize specific concrete properties.
Eco Material is a major source of the most commonly used pozzolan, Fly Ash. Produced from the combustion of coal in power generating plants, Fly Ash aids in the formation of cementitious compounds to enhance the strength, impermeability and durability of concrete.
Eco Material offers a technology and service for the manufacture of ceramic lightweight aggregate (LWA) from coal combustion products generated by current production or recovered from landfills or ponds. The resulting aggregate can be sold and beneficially purposed in a variety of construction, agricultural, and related applications.
Eco Material has partnered with Kirkland Mining Company to develop its natural pozzolan mine in Arizona. Kirkland’s high-quality natural pozzolans provide an effective supplementary cementitious material to enhance strength, durability, and corrosion resistance in all cast-in-place and precast concrete products.
Eco Material offers a full line of Engineered Materials for specialized applications. Eco Material’s research facilities are staffed with Ph.D Engineers and Chemists that can assist in developing products that are suited to your particular needs. These materials are highly modified to impart performance driven characteristics in the final product.
Eco Material road materials offer cost-effective alternatives and performance advantages to conventional road and highway construction and repair materials. We have more than 40 years of experience working with coal combustion products from coal-fired power generating plants to develop products targeted to road applications.
Eco Material offers building products manufacturers cost-effective alternatives to conventional materials that also offer significant performance advantages. We have more than 40 years of experience working with coal combustion products produced by coal-fired power plants to develop products for construction applications.
